IFS Peer Review & Checklist
Today we went through the familiar process of peer review, looking over each other’s blog work so far from this unit. I’m quite proud of my blog so far in terms of layout and accessibility, although I do plan on making some slight changes to my theme before Thursday’s submission, just to make sure all my work and images can be clearly seen and read.
I’m feeling fairly positive about this submission, with the only exception being the extent and quality of my design work; I have a feeling there will definitely be some extra feedback on that portion of my work! In preparation for this submission, I’ve created a padlet page that I plan on uploading all of my completed work on and linking in a latr post, as I think it will just come out clearer as to what exactly my final outcomes are for part 1 of IFS.
To begin this session, we took a brief look at some of the collections from Paris Haute Couture Week. I particularly liked the way Giles showed us how accessible behind the scenes information was on many of the shows, as they provide good resources for us as students to gain backstage knowledge on the high end productions behind some of the biggest fashion houses.
During the peer review breakout groups, unfortunately my group had some technical difficulties in terms of glitching microphones and bad connections, so we did mainly work from the chat box, however, we were all very collaborative which was encouraging to see.

The feedback I received from my peers was quite positively skewed towards my media and business work, with all of them really liking the customisation of my shoes and the way I presented them through the gifs and styling shots. Personally, I was really excited to hear that as I take a lot of pride in my media work, despite it not being my pathway. I was also happy to hear the positive comments on the design of my shoes as I really did place a lot of thought, time and effort into designing them.
I found it interesting how my group thought I would be more suited for the media pathway, although I can understand why that would come across in my work. I think I just have a lot of passion for my media work and I’ve always been very interested in photography, so that comes across a lot in my outcomes. However, when it comes to studying, I don’t want to pursue media at degree level.
Ultimately, the pieces of feedback I received from this session were quite minimal, with the improvements commenting mostly on my design work which I suppose I haven’t particularly placed a large area of my time or focus on because of my intentions to create stronger works in business and media. I would like to receive more detailed feedback though and plan on doing this by asking some other classmates if they are willing to look at my blog.
I also feel like my group crit on Monday will provide me with more feedback to improve my work, so overall at the moment, I feel quite content with the progression of my blog and my work and definitely feel like the next few days will be quite hectic, as I still have plenty of work to do.
To Do:
- Finish business presentation pages (I need to do a front and back cover and make slight adjustments to my other pages based on feedback I got during my group tutorial with Sarah earlier this week)
- Complete the 5 undergraduate slides
- Update my blog with a couple more posts
