Adobe Session 5 – Creating Patterns
In this Adobe session, we were taught how to create patterns in both Illustrator and Photoshop.
In Illustrator we worked on creating a pattern by joining arrow-like shapes and placing it within another shape. The initial pattern we created reminded me of a mesh-like fabric and I thought this was an interesting tool to use to create customised pattern designs. I played around with some of the settings, making the pattern wider and narrower, just to see the extent to which we could go with it.

In Photoshop, we learnt a different method to this. I found that this pattern was not as well defined as Illustrator but was easier in technique and allows for more abstract patterns to be created. We also learnt to warp it, which I thought could be good for the backgrounds of layouts or accent decorations for pages and will perhaps consider using this for my PR board page.
