Adobe Session 6 – Illustrating

In this Adobe session, we learnt how to draw a figure in Illustrator in order to create this sort of graphic. This is probably not something I will learn to master and definitely not something I seem to be particularly good at, but I can understand where I could see these types of drawings, especially in the digital space.

After this, we moved on to our reflections, where I really wanted to get feedback on my PR board and press release layouts. I also got to see some of the works of my peers and I can definitely say I saw some very impressive work and found it so interesting to see everyone’s unique style of presentation. However, it has become frustrating recently in these Adobe classes to get everyone to participate, with only 5 people out of 16 really communicating in my group.

Even so, I valued this feedback time and wrote notes on where I could improve my layouts and how.

I then went and edited my pages, changing the font on both of them (still kept it the same for both pages though) to something more clear and readable, as well as reducing the font size for both as well. I also added in the signature from Part 1 of business to the press release page, as I felt it fit well with the theme of the layout and filled some empty space. For the PR ideas board, I played around with the sizing of the boxes as suggested and also made them smaller so you can view the shoes in the background a little more. Other than that, I made some small adjustments to the positioning of the elements that were already there to best suit the layout.

Overall, I’m really glad I was able to receive feedback from this session and use it to improve these media layouts. I feel like I was able to create something a little different to my usual aesthetic, but still in line with my product and in all, am pleased with my efforts.
